FOLK - Black Walnut

Who gets to call all of this folk? Uh, me. This is a lovely set of 'folk-like' tunes. I do look up to see how they are categorized but they lie too. At any rate, please listen to this great set of songs.

not knackered

A word Brits seem to like is 'knackered'. It is a favorite to describe old, out-dated, beat-up things. These tunes are NOT knackered. I present songs from the British Empire for this set.

Maybe it's a little too obvious. It will be 'sun' or a derivative in song title and rarely just in a lyric. It's time to let that giant orb in the sky shine.

Swell Swill - Coffee

Swill, huh? Any meaning of the word is NOT pleasant. But, this is Swell Swill. These are treats leftover that are still tasteful. Take a big slug of the Swell Swill.

Country Rock

This is a great chance to hear Country Rock selections with a wide variety of artists. The Chicago connection between Wilco and Son Volt are represented here. I believe the song by Slobberbone, "Gimme Back My Dog", you'll either love or hate.

Baroque Pop

Please note the show image is Bach with an electric guitar strapped to his shoulder. Please remember this quote, "if it's not baroque, don't fix it". The real 'heyday' for Baroque Pop was 1966-1969. Artists were experimenting with orchestral instrumentation such as strings, horns, etc. The other instrumentation used for these recordings includes harpsichord, pump organ & Mellotron. These instruments were added to a basic rock/pop sound. You'll hear a certain theme to this set of songs, some whimsy but all pretty friendly to the EARS.

Power Trios

I present a set of tunes performed/recorded as a 'Power Trio'. A common setup for a rock trio is guitar, bass and drums. However, there are variations. The most common one is keyboards, bass and drums. There is a wide variety of music styles. The one thing in common? There's only 3.

Psychedelic Garage

This is a great one to listen to. I spotted a 'copped riff' that I'll expose. All in all, a great listen!

Sleep (or Relax) Beagle

It is time? Yes, it is. Sleep or Relax. Chill time. This presents a fine array of artists that 'fit the bill'. Ya gotta love a Beagle!
