Hey Ears Try This Out
This is an AUDIO Podcast with an image to represent the content. Each show is one track and 1 hour in length. I present music from ~ 1965 to current time including Rock, Progressive, Psychedelic, Folk, Hard Rock, Country Rock and anything else I feel like playing. All categories are decided by committee (me). It will include short descriptions between tracks addressing artist, song title, album, origin and year. I promise you will hear artists that you’ve NEVER heard before. Do you have to know/recognize the music to enjoy it? GOD, I hope not. I will challenge you with the best of intentions. You can expect/hope for ~ 2 to 3 new shows/week. [Est. Oct. 2023]

This a GREAT headphone listen. Is it for everyone? Probably not. Time period? Mostly 2007 to 2012 with some digressions. I love the multiple acoustic instrumentation that were used during these recordings. Countries represented: US, UK, Sweden, Netherlands, Germany, and France. One word to describe: gorgeous. Thanks to Andy Thompson for the inspiration!

More soup for you. I promise I will not be the "Soup Nazi". If you need assistance, these will be artists starting with the letters D, E and F. More soup? We shall see. No orders...No Soup.

There are some obvious omissions from this set, like maybe the Beatles and the Rolling Stones. That's okay, I had enough material for a 22 song/1 hour show without them. You ask: "Outta your wheelhouse Joe?" I say, "probably". I am able to fake (improvise) however. I had visions of rollerskating at the American Legion Hall with many of these songs. The release time period for this set was 1963-1968.

How did this come about? I don't know, I plead the Fifth. It just seems the right thing to do. If you need help, all the artists start with the letters: A, B or C. More Soup to come with different letters (duh).

Jose is at it again. Digging up his best tunes in a Volume 3. From The War on Drugs to Alberta Cross, go figure. Thanks Jose

More of the "I need to be extra selective" decade: The 80's. Some great stuff and some abysmal crap. I've culled through my archives to deliver something presentable, me hopes. The problem: drum machines, reverb, too clean production and poor-sounding synthesizers. Sometimes the tunes just rise above those handcuffs and create magic within the 80's. I present this for your approval.

This show completes the cycle and features all the bands that were influenced by The Allman Brothers Band. There are three direct connections: 1 song written by Gregg Allman, a solo release by an Allman Brothers Band member and another artist that played in the Allman Brothers Band in a later configuration. What makes a Southern Rock band? It helps to be from the south, in particular Jacksonville, FL.

This is an excellent format for me to play tunes that are great but just don't fit neatly in any category. I love all these tunes and I hope (think) you will as well. Carry on EARsters

These are mostly bands from Detroit between mid-60s into early-70s. Southeast Michigan was a hotbed for talented artists during that time. I will mention where the band was from if it varies from the Detroit area. It starts with the incomparable MC5 and ends with a band from Grand Rapids, Phlegethon. It will include others that you expect along with a few you won't. Rock On Michigan! For the non-natives, those are Petoskey stones.
