Do you know what archaeology involves? In one word, digging. I've completed this task to leave you a wonderful show of 20 'finds'.

Could it be? Yes, it is Folk Show 9. This will showcase many US bands/artists. It also features artists from the UK, Canada and the Netherlands. If you know more than 3 of these artists, you are doing Very Well.

There are 4 countries represented on this show: UK, Sweden, Germany and Italy. Some of this show represents the period of time from 1969 to 1972. There was a major shift where the psychedelia from the late-60s switched to a more progressive focus in the early 70s. That type of music was labeled 'Proto-Prog". I think of this era as the emergence of the FM radio extended play format in the US. Patience is a virtue when listening to these tunes. It may take time to realize the great tunes featured here. Game?

The theme is "b i r d s". Every song has the word 'bird' in the title or a specific type of bird is featured. There are a couple of hummingbirds, ravens and assorted other species. Please take flight and join these birds.
